Dr. Mewded Eshetu Dadi, Women In Global Health Ethiopia Research Manager is a medical doctor with vast experience in clinical practice, research, program management, and leadership. She currently works at Women in Global Health as Ethiopia Research Manager. She also leads a dynamic team of independent consultants working on impact-driven research and program implementation based in Ethiopia, mainly focused on clinical research and clinical trials, PHC, RMNCH, healthcare systems strengthening, healthcare workforce capacity building, and humanitarian intervention and response.
Mewded is a PHC research fellow at the African Forum for Primary Health Care and serves as a PI; leading a multi-national team in Africa to evaluate a recent policy reform in healthcare financing.
She served as Executive board member and chair for community outreach, partnerships, and resource mobilization for the Ethiopian Medical Women’s Association (EMeWA), where she led the inception of major initiatives in Women Leaders in Health, Women in Healthcare Research, and Professional development initiatives for career advancement of female healthcare professionals and further provided administrative leadership for sustainability and impact of the association. In her clinical practice, Mewded has experience in providing clinical mentorship for patient service, evidence-based quality improvement, training, and community outreach programs. She received her medical degree from the University of Gondar, where she was also a founding member and board secretary for the Addis Hiwot charity organization.
