The Lusophone Chapter is one of the two linguistic hubs, with representatives from Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, Brazil, Angola, Portugal, Cape-Verde, Timor-Leste, São Tomé and Príncipe.
The Lusophone Community was inaugurated during the 76th World Health Assembly.
