Colombia
Women play multiple roles in health, yet their value, impact, pay, and recognition often remain unequal. WGH Colombia was envisioned in January 2021 to empower women in the health sector and tackle these inequities, and was formally established in December 2023 by a core team of five health professionals from leading Colombian institutions. Despite the progress made in advancing the role of women in health, the chapter still faces several challenges, including strengthening human capital, advancing research, shaping the political agenda, and mobilizing resources.
Colombia Chapter
is working to:
- Map the human talent of women in the health sector in Colombia.
- To make visible women leaders in the health sector in Colombia.
- Strengthen and promote gender equity in the health sector in Colombia.
The mission of the chapter is to be a key player in the defense of gender equity in health in Colombia.
