Alastair completed his medical training at University of Otago, New Zealand and holds Fellowship of both the New Zealand and Australian Colleges of General Practice (FRNZCGP; FRACGP). He completed an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Strategies from University of Cambridge.
Alastair has a combined background of clinical medicine, non-clinical corporate and government sector roles, and healthcare industry leadership positions. He has previously worked in New Zealand, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, and at sea. He is now based in London. He is experienced in navigating regulatory compliance across varied settings, developing quality improvement and process optimization policy initiatives, and organizational development in early-stage operations.
Alastair is passionate about health system design, preventative approaches and the role of emerging technologies in enabling access to care. He is committed to gender equity in healthcare leadership, not only because this is a just cause, but for the benefit to all the greater diversity of ideas and experiences brings.
