Ms. Farheen Nahvi

Policy Associate

Farheen Nahvi (she/her) was born in Kashmir and has been actively involved with human rights work over the past four years in the capacity of researcher and policy advocate, on themes of gender-based violence, education, and enforced disappearance with NGOs in France and India, such as Observer Research Foundation, the Prajnya Trust, Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons, and Association Femmes et Familles en Difficultés. She is one of the co-founders of Kashmir-based, S.T.E.A.R.S., that collaborates with local partners to provide a transformative education journey for the youth. She has also been involved in the initiative s(H)e since its early conception and currently serves on its Executive Board.

Farheen graduated from Sciences Po, Paris, in 2022 with a Bachelor in Arts, majoring in Politics & Government with a Europe-Asia regional concentration.  She was previously working at Women in Global Health as a Project Associate on the PSEAH team. Her contributions centered on the coordination and organization of multiple PSEAH initiatives, including the #HealthToo data collection and reach out, WGH Regional town halls, and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. She currently supports the Research, Advocacy and Policy team with drafting, outreach, and coordination, among other responsibilities.
