Ms. Gloria Adoyi is a public health specialist and social and behavior change communication expert based in Abuja, Nigeria. Gloria has a track record of developing and implementing impactful facility and community-based maternal child and newborn health programs in remote underserved communities across Nigeria, utilizing her skills in social and behavior change communication and policy advocacy. She has formerly served as Senior Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) Advisor at Save the Children under USAID’s Breakthrough ACTION Nigeria project, and as Program Manager of the Reproductive Health Unit, at the Population Council, where her research work on ending preventable maternal mortality in Nigeria was outstanding. Gloria is an avid researcher and writer, particularly interested in subjects around maternal child and adolescent health in developing countries. She has collaborated with several national committees to develop health policies and frameworks in Nigeria and contributed to the development and harmonization of national training manuals, guidelines, SOPs, and job aids for different providers and community-led interventions.
She is a board member of the White Ribbon Alliance, a member of the International Association on Public Health (IAPH), a fellow of the Academy of Public Health (APH), and a member of the West African Institute of Public Health. She is a certified National Trainer on the Integrated Service Delivery Package by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) of Nigeria. She holds a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Microbiology, and a Bachelor’s degree from Bayero University, Kano, and is currently studying for a master’s degree in public health.
