Rosa M. Orriols is a global health leader with over 25 years of experience working within health systems and supporting the health workforce, with a strong focus on sustainability, resilience, and gender equity. She currently serves as Chief Sustainability & Environmental Health Advisor at the Catalan Institute of Health and Vice President of Women in Global Health (WGH) Spain. She is a Board Member of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) and a Trustee of FUNDIT-Esdi at Universitat Ramon Llull. Rosa collaborates closely with WHO and EU institutions, advocating for safe and fair working conditions for health workers and promoting diversity in leadership. Notably, she led the design of the first personal protective equipment (PPE) for future pandemics tailored to the needs of health workers, with special consideration for the fact that the majority are women. Her expertise lies in integrating health, workforce well-being, and sustainability while aligning policies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to build healthier, more equitable, and resilient health systems globally.
