Harassment: A story of an American Community Health Worker

26 October 2022

He was a few years older than me, a married man, and had worked in the department for over a decade. While at work, he would schedule weekly check-ins with me that were supposed to only last 30 minutes. I would frequently sit in an office space for 2 hours with him, where he required me to sit right next to him, even though there was a board room table… I was often told I was terrible at my job, even though I was better than the four other people who had my exact role in the department. Yet, he spread rumors about me and told all the other managers in the department how terrible I was at my job. He would loudly tell people in the office, “I don’t understand why we hired her,” and claimed that another manager hired me because I was there as a “pretty face” for the office
