Sexual Harassment: Story of a Pharmacist from the African Region

Hospital driver got inappropriate when I was called back to the hospital at midnight to issue anesthesia meds to a patient that needed emergency surgery. I had to fight him while he wanted to touch me in the wrong places. It was dark and there was no one. I begged him to stop because I really needed to get to the hospital. So he stopped for a while. When I got to the hospital I had to forget about what happened and compose myself so that the patient could get their care. I didn’t say anything even though I was traumatized. I told a workmate some days later that I wanted to report the incident, she responded by saying she went through the same thing with the same driver and I shouldn’t waste my time because the hospital wouldn’t do anything about it.
