South Africa
The South African chapter is founded by five colleagues in health, brought together by their passion for realizing gender equality in their lifetime. The collective experience is in advocacy for gender equality, public health, surgery and emergency medicine, research and development. We are from various backgrounds in the different provinces of South Africa. The group has various members occupying strategic positions, some positions a first for women of color. The focus of this group is to use our collective influence to ensure that the structural challenges that make it hard for women to thrive in these strategic positions are overcome.
