Women in Global Health Singapore was founded in June 2023 to tackle gender equity issues in both access to health and in careers of the healthcare sector in Singapore. The Singapore Chapter aims to advance gender equity nationally, and to be an active member of the growing WGH global movement in Southeast Asia.
The WGH Singapore Chapter is hosted by ACCESS Health International Southeast Asia: Founded in 2007, ACCESS Health International is a global health non-profit think tank, advisory and implementation partner with the vision for all people to access high quality, affordable healthcare and to lead healthy, productive lives.

The Singapore Chapter will build an extensive network of leaders and an enabling environment for the promotion of transformative leadership in health, in all levels of experience, background, and knowledge, that is gender transformational. It offers a platform for visibility and recognition to women shaping the health landscape in Singapore and beyond. The platform also leverages opportunities for equal inclusion of women in conferences, panels, and job prospects.

Connect
- Build a platform for career support and intergenerational mentoring
- Establish a network of leaders in global health in Singapore as well as Singapore-connected individuals overseas who support gender equity.
Advance
- Support organisations to move towards gender representative data in science, research and leadership initiatives.
- Advance knowledge and awareness of inequities in health in Singapore by undertaking and disseminating research on health inequities in Singapore.
- Increase the visibility of women working in global health in Singapore
Mobilise
- Mobilise female global health leaders who will push for gender equal work environments
- Support other Southeast Asian countries in setting up WGH chapters
