Our aims:

The WGH Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee’s vision for health equity is to enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s leadership and participation in all decisions that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing.

The WGH Australia National Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee will contribute to resources, events and training to promote evidence-based policy on women’s leadership in health.

Aligning with Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership, an NHMRC Partnership Project, the National Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee will work to ensure best-practice and evidence-based approaches for supporting women’s career growth in health are shared, promoted and implemented.

The WGH Australia Global Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee supports the global network to further shared objectives of women’s empowerment and gender transformative change in the health workforce on a global level.

The Global Gender Equality in Health Leadership Committee also connects women leaders from the Indo-Pacific region with leaders in Australia through regional initiatives.

WGH Australia has hosted various events and regional dialogues on the unequal burdens for women in healthcare and evidence-based strategies to advance women’s leadership. Recordings of past events are available for members.
